Day 36

Okay, I weighed 185 today. We’re getting back on track here. Today is my last free Saturday for quite a while since I will be working on Saturday’s from now on so I called my daughter Sarah and told her to bring the family and let’s go to Pirate Island ( a new restaurant in town. It was really fun. It looks sort of like Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland and there is an arcade room where you can win tickets to trade for prizes. I didn’t eat anything there but Sarah said the pizza was really good. They have a 24 inch pizza that is huge. I’ll go back someday when I can have some and see for myself how good it is.
For lunch today I had chicken and an apple and for dinner it was fish and cabbage.
I was just checking out the South Beach Diet phase’s 1 and 2 to see what I’m in for in 8 days and you know it sounds doable so I don’t think I’ll have anything to worry about. I may lose more weight on that too.
I talked to another friend today from Entrada and she wants to lose 10-15 pounds to look good in her bikini in a few weeks so I think she may do the HCG diet at Green Valley Spa too.

Day 35

I am still at 186 so I must just be maintaining because of raising my proteins to 4.5 oz per serving. I can’t donate plasma until my results come back and I called Biolife yesterday and they said it could be another week until they get the results and by then I will be through with the injections and on the 2 week portion of the diet so I might as well go back to the 3.5 oz servings for the last 5 days of the injections. I want to get to at least 180 pounds.
Okay, so a few good things happened today. I started out by going to Entrada for my review but it was postponed for a couple of hours so I went to the Inn’s to check on how my interview went yesterday and Rheanne, the Inn Manager, offered me the supervisor job, yay, of course I said yes. I start on Monday. I’m so excited. Then I went to see Marium and get my new measurements and I have lost a total of 22 inches off of my body! That includes my shoulders, chest, hips, biceps, forearms, thighs, calves and 11 inches off my waist! No wonder my pants are baggy on me. That does not include my neck and face which have also lost inches but we didn’t measure those. Marium also took new pictures of me to post on the spa site. Merideth was there too and she is looking superb as well. Way to go Merideth!
Then I went back to Entrada for my review and David marked everything “Meets” or “Exceeds Standards”. I love Entrada and everyone who works and lives there.
If there is anyone out there reading this that has doubts about this diet, DON’T! It works! It’s amazing. No cravings…for example, Grandma Tobler’s was having there grand opening today and said that if you come in and say you heard this on KONY radio you can have a free cinnamon roll so I went and got one for my husband and I wasn’t even tempted to try it. I was however actually looking forward to eating my lunch.
For lunch I had fish and cucumbers with melba and an orange slushy and then Terry and I drove out to see the new airport and then went to see the movie Gran Torino, it was pretty good. I fixed the family chicken noodle soup for their dinner and for my dinner I had chicken broccoli, melba and strawberries.

Day 34

Okay I still weighed 186 so I did another apple day. I have to be honest here I don’t like apple days. I can’t seem to find good crisp apples which are the best, I hate the mealy ones.
I went for the job interview this morning and I feel like it went pretty well. The job seems to be right up my alley, I hope I get it.
After the interview I went to my daughter’s home to baby-sit while she went to a job (she does draperies). I started a puzzle and when Sarah got home she wouldn’t let me go home until we finished it. It took about 4 hours but we got it done.
I’m going in tomorrow to do measurements with Marium. I’ll post the results later.

Day 33

Today I still weighed 186, one more day at this weight and I’ll do another apple day.
I got ready for my interview this morning and just before I left the lady called me and said that something has come up and could we reschedule for tomorrow? “Sure”, I said. That gave me another day to clean and organize some more. I also had pack meeting tonight and needed to fix something for refreshments. The theme was Holiday Lights so I figured I would make rice crispy squares out of colored crispies and pipe and outline of a Christmas tree on each one with icing. It turned out pretty cool looking.
I went through all my work pants this morning to see what I have. The first pair was size 36 and they fit real loose, they didn’t slide off and I can still wear them but they are real baggy. Yay! The next pair was 34’s and they fit a little better on the waist but were still baggy in the butt. (these are men’s pants that I buy because women’s are not long enough) The next pair said 33x32 and I know that they were short but I tried them on anyway. I had to suck in just a bit to get them hooked up but they felt fine once I got that done but they were to short. Then I remembered I had bought a pair for Terry and those were it so they went into his closet. When I put my scout shirt on it wasn’t tight either. My depression over nothing fitting me is subsiding and this is a good thing.
I ate ½ a grapefruit for breakfast along with tea and more tea. For lunch I had chicken and broccoli and for dinner I fixed fish with romaine and had strawberries for dessert.

Day 32

Today I still weighed 186 but I had lots of energy so I cleaned and did laundry. I fixed a marinara for lunch to go with my ground beef. It came out tasting like spaghetti sauce so I guess I did it right. It was something that Marianne showed us last Saturday in the cooking class. How to use spices in everything. I made flavored breadsticks too. For dinner I had chicken and broccoli.
My right hand has been a little swollen today, maybe I’ve had too much salt, I salt everything.
I have a job interview tomorrow at the Inn at Entrada, I hope it goes well. Wish me luck.
I served at a birthday party tonight it was so fun seeing old friends again.

A sad day for horse lovers

Last Thursday my neighbor asked me to bring the uni-loader over to her house to help her get a bale of hay in to her shed so I did. All was going well until I backed up the uni-loader so she could shut the shed door and her horses all butted in to get at the hay and one of her goats jumped up on the uni so I stopped moving so it wouldn't get hurt and Vera was yelling at the horses and waving them away and Jazz, her best horse backed up suddenly and backed right into the teeth on the bucket and punctured a vessel and blood started squirting out and I jumped out of the uni and grabbed a shirt that happened to be on it and put around her injury and told Vera to call the vet. About 1/2 an hour passed by the time she found one that could come to her house and he was on his was to Apple Valley, about an hour away. So we washed the wound and bandaged it as best we could and the vet got there in about 45 minutes. He said that a cut eye in Apple Valley could wait. He checked out Jazz's leg and felt like the tendon had been severed as well and it would take a few days until he was sure. Well today I got the word that Jazz will be put down tomorrow. Oh my gosh I cried like a baby. Of the three horses Vera has Jazz is the best one. Ari (Jazz's mom)is a retired race horse and has bad legs and Toots (Jazz's daughter) isn't broke and has kicked Vera and broke her leg. Jazz is the one I have wanted to have ever since I rode her four years ago. She is the sweetest horse I've ever known. I am so mad at myself for letting her get hurt. I'm really worried about Vera too because her pets are her babies and I'm sure she is taking this hard too. She told me she just wants to go to bed and forget about everything. Her animals are what keep her going, they are what she lives for.

Day 31

Today I weighed 186. No change from yesterday but that was expected. I had a busy day today. I stared out with taking my daughter Taylor to school and then hitting the spa for my injection then I went to Biolife to get another blood test to see if my protein came up but they said it could take one to two weeks before I find out and can donate again. That’s my gas and food money so things are going to be tight until I can donate plasma again. Then I went looking for a teapot, I stopped by a thrift store and the DI first just in case they had a used one but no luck. Then I picked up the grandson’s and watched them until their parents got home. We had beef and cabbage for lunch. I went to Tuesday Morning but they are closed this week for inventory so I went down the stores and came across Kitchen Collections and found a brewing cup that has an infuser with it for the flowering tea that I have so that’s what I bought. Then the girls called and said to meet them and Dad at Olive Garden for dinner. I ordered Chicken Caesar Salad with the lettuce and chicken together and everything else on the side which I gave to the girls and Terry used the dressing as dip for his breadsticks. I did really good. I had strawberries for dessert when I got home.
Marium called and wants to do midpoint measurements on me this week, it will be interesting to see how many inches I’ve lost and where I’ve lost them.

Day 30

186! That makes a total of 30 pounds in 30 days! I’m so excited! Can you tell.

I worked at Entrada today and most of the members that came in to eat that know me could tell that I have lost weight and are very happy for me too.

I saddled up my horse today and went for a short ride in the hills. I haven’t been on her in such a long time I didn’t want to get sore, besides it was really cold. I felt sorry for her before, having to carry a ton of weight around so I quit riding her. ( I also was having a hard time getting my foot high enough to get it in the stirrup). She was a little nasty so I need to get on her everyday and get her back into shape and it will also tone my body up, without gaining weight, to ride again. A person uses a lot of different muscles while riding a horse, that’s why you get sore when you first start riding.

Today is mine and Terry's 19th wedding anniversary we were going to go to Olive Garden but he doesn't feel good.

For lunch today I had fish and lettuce with melba and an orange slush for dessert and for dinner I ground up some chicken and made a patty and had it with cabbage since someone ate all the tomatoes. I had strawberries for dessert. I found a new jasmine tea that tastes real good too so I drank a lot of tea today.
